Spring in Vancouver—Time to Plan your Gutter UpgradesApril 24th, 2017 | by Mark Tulloch | in Gutter Installaton | 0
It’s springtime in Vancouver, which means that the rain lets up a little, the sun starts poking its head over the mountains, and it’s time to start knocking those little chores off your to-do list.
You’ve probably already been up your ladder, doing the seasonal maintenance, cleaning out your gutters, and you might have noticed that there is some room for improvement. Maybe those aluminum gutters are starting to sag. Maybe there was a larger collection of leaves trapped in the drainpipes. No matter what the problems, now is the time to start planning your gutter upgrades.
Think of everything connected to your gutters as all part of a big rainwater system. If one isn’t working well, you may start to see problems in other parts. If your outlets aren’t big enough, a good Lower Mainland rainfall will leave you with water running all over your roof. If you don’t have leaf catchers or leaf screens, you’ll find your pipes getting clogged every fall. You need every part of your gutters and pipes to be working properly to remove all the rain from your roof.
On the simpler side, maybe you just need your gutter system modified. Larger outlets, better leaf screens, or down-pipe installation might be all that is required. With a better system, it keeps maintenance to a minimum, making those trips up the ladder easier for you.
On the bigger side, maybe you want to really upgrade and add steel gutters to your home. It’s stronger and more environmentally friendly. Precision Gutters carries a Lindab half round steel gutter that is leak-free and has the maximum drainage capacity. Now that’s an upgrade over your aluminum gutters.
No matter what you choose, spring is the perfect time to start thinking about ways to make your rainwater system work more efficiently. With just a few simple upgrades, you’ll have increased the value of your home and made your life easier as well.
