WARRANTY TRANSFERABILITY-

  • The DoublePro® limited warranty is applicable to the original property owner where the product was installed and can be transferred only once with the property.
  • Upon transfer, the warranty duration will not exceed the original warranty period.


ACTIONS BY ALU-REX INC.-

  • Notification & Validation: Notify Alu-Rex as soon as a defect is discovered, following the outlined claim process.
  • Resolution Options: Alu-Rex may repair, replace, or refund defective products based on our sole discretion.
  • Labor Costs: Alu-Rex covers labor costs only for clearing obstructions due to product failure, not for installation of replacements.
  • Cost Limit: The company’s obligation does not exceed the purchase price of the original product.


WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS-

  • Installation & Damage: Does not cover faulty installations or accidental damage.
  • Weather & Acts of God: Excludes damages from extreme weather, natural disasters, or unusual conditions.
  • Environmental Factors: Surface deterioration due to air pollution or harmful chemicals.
  • Unauthorized Modifications: Changes to product surfaces without written authorization void the warranty.


OTHER LIMITATIONS-

  • Product Authenticity: Warranty covers only genuine DoublePro® products; responsibility is on the homeowner to verify.

  • Is the warranty transferable?

    Yes, the limited warranty is transferable one time when the property is sold. However, the warranty period for the new owner will not exceed the original warranty duration. Ownership transfers require no further action to maintain warranty coverage beyond these terms.

  • What actions will Alu-Rex Inc. take if there's a product defect?

    Upon receiving notification and validating a complaint regarding a product defect, Alu-Rex Inc. will take the following actions:


    Manufacturing Defects: If the defect is related to manufacturing, Alu-Rex will, at its sole discretion, undertake one of the following actions:

      - Repair the defective product.

      - Replace the defective product with new materials.

      - Refund the purchase price of the originally installed product found to be defective.


    Product Performance: If the product fails to perform as specified, Alu-Rex Inc. will:

      - Cover reasonable labor costs to clear any obstructions in the gutter or downspout caused by the product's failure.

      - Repair or replace the defective product if needed, under the same limitations.


    Replacement Conditions: In the event of product replacement, Alu-Rex will only be responsible for supplying the materials. The cost of labor for the installation of the new product is not covered by the warranty.


    Obligation Limitations: It is important to note that Alu-Rex’s obligations are limited to the purchase price of the originally installed defective product. Any additional costs or expenses beyond this amount are the homeowner’s responsibility.


    Warranty Extensions: Should the product be repaired or replaced under warranty, the warranty for the new or repaired product will only extend for the remaining period of the original warranty.


    This comprehensive approach ensures that while Alu-Rex Inc. stands firmly behind its products, the warranty’s scope is clear, providing homeowners with confidence and transparency in their gutter system investments.

  • What isn't covered by this warranty?

    The DoublePro® system warranty excludes the following:


    1. The gutter components themselves.

    2. Damage from improper installation.

    3. Surface color changes due to weathering and environmental exposure.

    4. Accidental damage.

    5. Damage from snow or ice accumulation due to poor roof ventilation.

    6. Damage from rapid snow or ice movement on steep or metal roofs.

    7. Structural shrinkage or distortion.

    8. Damage from natural disasters like fires, storms, or earthquakes.

    9. Damage from exposure to harmful chemicals.

    10. Surface deterioration from air pollution.

    11. Misuse, abuse, or vandalism.

    12. Accumulation of mold and mildew.

    13. Costs for clearing blockages due to unusual conditions.

    14. Impact from foreign objects.

    15. Black streaks, known as tiger-stripes, on the gutter.

    16. Warping from exposure to excessive heat or reflective heat sources.

    17. Products altered without Alu-Rex Inc.'s authorization.

    18. Any causes beyond reasonable control.

  • What are other limitations of the warranty?

    The warranty for DoublePro® products includes several important limitations and conditions that should be noted to ensure compliance and maintain coverage:


    1. Product Authenticity: The warranty covers only genuine DoublePro® products. Ensure the product installed is an authentic Alu-Rex product.


    2. Aesthetic Variations: Replacement products may differ in gloss and color due to weathering.


    3. Product Changes: Alu-Rex may change or discontinue products without notice. Substitutes will be of comparable quality and price.


    4. Exclusive Warranty Terms: The warranty provided is the only valid warranty. Alu-Rex is not responsible for other warranties.


    5. Operational Limitations: Periodically clear debris from sheltered or shallow-pitched roof areas to maintain efficiency.


    6. Corrosion Prevention: Avoid direct contact between aluminum products and dissimilar materials to prevent corrosion.

  • How do I submit a warranty claim?

    To submit a claim, send a written notification containing a picture and description of the defect, discovery date, installation date, invoice copy, and contact details of both the installer and yourself. Send the claim to ALU-REX INC., 2180 de la Rotonde Ave., Lévis (Quebec) G6X 2L8. You can also fax it to 1-888-909-2248 or email it to contact@alu-rex.com. Alu-Rex will notify you of any additional required information to process the claim.
